In the FoodPrints classroom at Second Street School, we are so glad to see everyone back after winter break. We started off the new year continuing our study of Dumplings for Lili by Melissa Iwai. We made bao (dumplings) with a beef filling (made with beef from Mefford Family Farm here in Franklin County). They were a big hit with many FoodPrints students, and we promised to share the recipe. Below, you will find the recipe from the book and then two alternate filling options. We made the sweet potato filling before winter break, and we made the beef filling this week. Enjoy!
